Chanukah Wonderland!

Chabad of the East Valley presents a “Grand Chanukah Wonderland” — featuring “Judaica, fun and entertainment for children of all ages” through Wed, Dec. 28 next door to the Chabad Center at 3875 W. Ray Road in Chandler. Get ready for some serious fun.

Ongoing activities include making Chanukah buttons, building LEGO menorahs, writing cards to Israeli soldiers, playing tabletop dreidel games and more. I’m told there’s a movie theater, bounce house, children’s reading corner and space to enjoy Jewish “Dance Dance Revolution.”

Each day’s schedule includes different activities — including all sorts of free activities you can find by clicking here. It looks like lollipops and LEGOS are on tap for Wed, Dec. 21, but check the schedule for specific times before you go. A “Grand Menorah Lighting Celebration” takes place this evening from 5-5:45pm at Arizona Mills mall.

I discovered all sorts of fun activities, from a pajama party to carnival games, when I reviewed the schedule. Kids can design a Chanukah T-shirt on Thurs, Dec. 22, or make Chanukah stained glass on Mon, Dec. 26. There’s a “Grand Finale Chanukah Surprise Event” scheduled for Wed, Dec. 28 at 4pm.

Admission to the Sun, Dec. 25 “Chanukah Bowl” at 1pm is $10 — and includes cosmic bowling, edible Chanukah gelt, raffle and prizes, plus menorah lighting. The Tues, Dec. 27 “Carnival Day” includes a “Car Menorah Parade” that leaves the Chabad center at 5pm.

Check the Chabad of the East Valley website for “Chanukah Wonderland” hours and details — or to learn more about the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.
