The Calvin Charles Gallery in Scottsdale will be exhibiting work by students from New Way Academy during this month’s Scottsdale ArtWalk, taking place on Dec. 8. New Way Academy is a private school in Scottsdale serving K-12 students with learning differences including “dyslexia, attention deficit disorder and language based learning differences.”
Student works will be exhibited from 6:30-8:30pm and many pieces will be available for sale, according to New Way Academy art teacher Linda Bonnell — who led the students in creating this collection. The Scottsdale ArtWalk, presented by the Scottsdale Gallery Association, takes place from 7-9pm.
The Calvin Charles Gallery website notes the it “brings together an eclectic blend of international artists living and working in China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Japan, modern masters from Europe, Australia and the Americas, as well as mid-career nationally recognized artists, and local emerging treasures.”
This is the third time the gallery has partnered with New Way Academy to exhibit student artwork and raise funds for the school. Proceeds will directly benefit the New Way Academy art department to continue its support and education of children with learning differences.
